INTERVIEW WITH GENERATIONAL GUYZ BOSS GENENGUY HHN ON HIS NEW SONG SAY YEAH. After his first song REALITY was certified platinum by Genenguyz Music Association Certification (GGZMAC) we at Genenguyz IKD Media talked to Lagos IKD based Rapper/producer Genenguy HHN. We debated over his latest release SAYYEAH and his producer knowledge on the production of the track on his recent album REALITY ( Genenguyz Records). HOW DID “SAYYEAH” COME ABOUT? It was a quick song after listing to the beat together with Genenguy Yungdave and Genenguy Willswag I decided to make a song with it, at that time Genenguy Yungdave still got slick vocals and he vibed in some cool melody but in response to his melody I gave it life with some good lyrics so I quickly jot that down so I won’t forget it was based on a meeting we just finished asking God almighty to help us go through with it and this was in mid 2017. WHEN WAS SAYYEAH ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR RELEASE, CAUSE WE GOT A PROMO COVER FROM JUNE 30 2017 ON GGZ BLOG? SAYYEAH wasn’t to be released in 2017 until latter and the promo cover was created by me and was shipped to the Music media section of Genenguyz for safe keeping and later use but was some how leaked into our blog by one of Genenguy Kelvinhotz guyz.
GENENGUY YUNGDAVE AND GENENGUY WILLSWAG WAS SUPPOSE TO BE PRESENT IN THE SONG BECAUSE THAT WHAT THE OLD COVER SAYS, AND IN THE RELEASE THEY ARE NOT WHY? I recorded SAYYEAH at first with Genenguy WILLSWAG and now GENENGUYZ ARTIST OF THE YEAR YUNGDAVE with Engine 3 by Genenguy Kelvinhotz I really admire Genenguy Willswag verse of the song it was way over my head because I wasn’t expecting much from him and Genenguy Yungdave part was kind of off the lyrical meaning of the song but I still went with it cause his vocals then was good so we recorded a finish track but after some time I discovered a new recording Engine called GIQUEISE (GGZ ENGINE 4) in my long term stay in IKD and I Decided to try it out with my latest song SAYYEAH and it was fantastic easy to use and more clear than engine 3 but both still use same concept of production, that how the track ended up as a solo and this was in June 2017.
SINCE THE PROMO COVER WAS CREATED BY YOU CAN YOU SHED MORE LIGHT ON THE OLD PROMO COVER AND THE NEW PROMO COVER?
First and foremost on the old cover you can see it got a white background and a blue bird, that bird represent a dove flying with our prayers to Heaven and the green circle represent Nigeria and also at the bottom of the birds tail you can see the name of the song is called YEAHH that was the first name given to it and my Stage name was completed with the two H together with the songs name that because there was not enough space for all the names that why it was written together with the song name Genenguy willswag name wasn’t written in swag because when it comes to prayer he wants to be simple before God while Genenguy Yungdave loves more emphasis on the letter A in his name and loves to ask God for money that the reason the letter E was changed to the pound currency. As for the new cover it the advanced version of the old cover, the background features a gold like color with mostly white bubble of light and literally the dove is taking SAYYEAH to Heaven with it, my stage name Genenguy HHN is still written in black and Gold as also seen in the old cover the letter N was written in small letter because before God Almighty I am small and with a humbled heart I come to you to please SAYYEAH on our prayers and for the colors used the gold was a very good substitute for the color white just as a catholic priest wears a white or gold chasuble to celebrate Christmas.
STRAIGHT INTO THE SONG SAYYEAH IT MOSTLY ABOUT PRAYER RIGHT? Of course as sinners you know we need to humble our self and to that conclusion, SAYYEAH do just that not directly that why it part of the album REALITY to realize our fault and not dwell on old wounds and move on and if you listing closely to the song it does not dwell on one point only it. It just for you to realize that just be in good terms with God and of course your Neighbors and every other thing he would SAYYEAH to it. GOING STRIGHT TO THE LYRICS CAN YOU PLEASE SHEAD MORE LIGHT ON IT? Sure the very first part talks about closure and admonishing frequent fee time because the world isn’t smiling go out there and do your part in healing it, you know if a man wants to protect his family from the dangers of the world you name it he cant wait on the police to do it for him, he got his God and himself. So that that for the first part and the second part I talk about our enemies cause everyone got one even your enemy has enemies so if our enemies pass their curfew their own deeds will catch up with them exposing things to the outside world bringing real peace and order to everyone that for the blessing everyday and the solar power. You know the song is an open book just listing closely couple of times am sure you get even more than I can say hear.
ON INSTAGRAM GENERATIONALGUYZ PROMOTED SAYYEAH WITH OLD CHILDREN NIGHT PRAYERS, WHY NIGHT PRAYERS? You know as someone who work hard during the day you can just be very tired and just go to bed but most times they check their phones for notifications before heading to sleep so GENENGUYZ taught that if this people could just catch his post and read it even without taking it likely it meant to bring a smile to your face because you remember your childhood or your own child and wonder how simple and straight forward this prayer is. GENENGUYZ chose the children prayer because a child mind is pure and free from all the troubles in the world, and that how we got the thought of giving hard day workers that experience again.
RECENTLY ON TWITTER SOMEONE COMMENTED YOUR CREATIVITY AND WILLINGNESS TO DO THE RIGHT THING EVEN IF YOU NOT THAT POPULAR, DO YOU GET THAT A LOT? I would say YEAH to that you Know I like my work to speak for itself not popularity carrying it but it content and like the music artist and producers I look up to did not wait till they popular I just want people to recognize me for good music. And its no disrespect to any artist or producer who is popular because its other peoples thing and it works for them, their personality it just I want people to recognize me for making good songs that pass the right and positive message that has good impact in your mind, body and soul. HOW DOSE IT FEEL TO HAVE BROKEN THE 400 POINS IN GENENGUYZ BILLBOARD HOT 10 ? It feels great you know it would never be possible without the never ending support of our supporters and fanz also other Genenguyz members big thanks to them for this great achievement. Not just for SAYYEAH alone but for T.E.S.T, Pills, Option, New Year. Once again big thanks to them all.
A LOT OF FANZ OUT THERE THINKS THE ARTIST OF THE YEAR YUNGDAVE IS NOT ACTIVE IN HIS DUTIES THERE BY USING THE #FIXAOTY2017 IS THIS TRUE OR JUST RUMORS? That question is not for me to answer, but I would say he is doing what he can many might not like it that why they are giving a choice to change their Artist Of The Year each Year.
THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF CRITICS CHATTERING LATELY ABOUT YOU DOMINATING THE BILLBOARD HOT 10 TOP SPOT WITH YOUR SONGS AND NOT GIVING OTHER ARTIST THE CHANCE TO COME UP, HOW TRUE IS THAT? First of all I thank them all for the recognition of my songs in the top spot but for me not giving other artist the time and opportunity to shine is false, this is due to lack of consistency and ambition from some of the artist. It just after they drop one song they feel they could dwell on that forever which isn’t so in the music business even other businesses. The power of consistency keeps people posted and interested in what you have for them.
BACK TO SAYYEAH LYRICAL LINES AT SOME POINT YOU TALKED ABOUT TWO MAJOR HIT TV SERIES THE FLASH AND BLINDSPOT, WHY THOSE TWO TV SERIES? It kind of funny you asked this kind of question tho but I will go through with it, yes flash is super but that would be in it first two seasons but Blindspot I don’t know there is something always different when it comes to movies or series Jamie Alexandra is in, and it always spectacular because it broadens your mind makes you aware of things you might get once in a blue moon and sometimes some of the info can be in a twisted manner but if your mind is broad enough and you see things differently it might just be straight forward to you. That one of the main reason SAYYEAH is part of the album REALITY.
APART FROM RELEASING YOU FIRST ALBUM WHAT OTHER GOALS DO YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE BEFORE THE GENENGUYZ YEAR RUNS OUT? I plan to sighting up loose ends in the music video making of generationalguyz also try to train up more producers for the engine 4pro and 5pro. I also plan to make Genenguyz IKD a big part of Generationalguyz I have also got a lot in the pipeline.
FOR THE BOSS OF GENERATIONAL GUYZ YOU ARE AN EXTREEMLY HUMBLE AND TRUTHFUL PERSON IS THERE ANY ONE IN YOUR LIFE BE IT A MENTOR OR SOMEONE ELES THAT HAS GUIDED AND HELPED YOU BE THIS WAY? I credit my parent a lot for keeping my head on my shoulders, letting me realize that just because I am the seeing head of an organization dose not make me more of a man than another man. It doesn’t make me a better person than someone else that doing something lesser than me. Rich or Poor human biology remains the same. I always keep that in my head. Good people don’t like someone who is selfcentered or full of themselves, so just being around my family and friends especially Genenguy Kelvinhotz keeps be humble and down to earth, they also honest with me and my work also some of my decisions and I completely admire that fact. I also enjoy living my life that way because it goes in line before God almighty and man. I’ve being doing this since Generationalguyz was established so I know it.
